The Flan King himself, Greg Beckett, says that it’s based on an original Puerto Rican family recipe. The company was started in 2007 and they sell not only in LA-area farmers markets but also to local restaurants, hotels and caterers. A few corporate customers hold Flan King Fridays on which they offer their employees… flan!

Can you imagine how challenging it is to ship flan fresh to the other side of the country? What they do is they ship it cold-packed in an insulated box and sealed in an attractive container. The packaging is all ecologically friendly, they swear.
Online order sizes include a Variety Pack — a set of eight individual size flans that feature all seven flavors and an additional classic. There’s also a 10 pack of individual sizes, a large size which serves 10, and an extra large which serves about 15. Prices range from $24.95 to $44.95 plus shipping. Gift wrapping is available for a small fee.
