But what is it that’s keeping the majority of the people all around the world, cool and hydrated during these extremely hot days? Well, apart from the use of air conditioners which have become a vital necessity for people nowadays, adequate consumption of water or any other fluid has also proved to be very helpful for people to beat off the heat in these extreme weather conditions.

In this case, cool drinks have particularly proven to be a lifesaver for people and it has become an essential requirement for people to own a freezer or a mini fridge to keep drinks cool during summer. Chilled drinks not only help to hydrate your body, but they also help to cool you off. Hence, it is not a bad idea to invest in a portable cooler or a mini fridge for yourself to enjoy your preferred drinks throughout summer.

However, there are a lot of other ways of keeping your drinks chilled during summer. These include the paper towel trick, the salt and ice method, the frozen grapes, the tin foil, the corkcicles trick, the water bottle, using freezing glasses and the burying method. Not to mention, these methods don’t only limit to chilling your basic water or canned juices.

You can also apply a few of these methods to enjoy a can of cool beer or a bottle of chilled wine during the summer time. Read ahead to find out more about these cool methods!

The Paper Towel Trick

Want your drinks chilled within minutes? The paper towel trick is here to save the day! All you need to do is grab a paper towel and spritz water on it to dampen it. Make sure the towel you picked is big enough to cover your container from all sides. Then all you have to do is wrap the bottles and pop them in the freezer for a maximum time of 10-15 minutes.

This method is sure to chill the contents of the can/bottle faster in comparison to the air in the freezer due to the quick evaporation and freezing of the paper towel’s moisture. Also, we definitely recommend you to use smaller containers as the liquid will cool down faster.

Salt + Ice or Simply Water + Ice

As we all know, salt helps to drop the freezing point of ice. Hence, dumping a handful of any type of salt in ice will make it melt faster and surround itself around the container to do a better job at cooling your drink than ice alone.

To further bring down the temperature of the contents of your bottle or can, faster than before, try adding chilled water to the ice-salt mixture and stir. This is a method that we guarantee will work every time and allow you to enjoy your drinks all cool and chilled! However, do make sure to give the containers a good rinse before you drink from them because the salt may somehow find its way into your drink and alter the taste.

If you do not wish to use salt in any case, you could simply use chilled water. In that way, just like before, the water combined with the ice will cover more of the surface of the container as opposed to using ice only.

Frozen Grapes

Thanks to the person who decided to try this method, we can all now enjoy chilled wine for a longer period of time during those extremely hot days. Freeze a bunch of grapes overnight and put a few of those grapes in your wine. It will do just a good job at keeping your drink cool as ice cubes without diluting the wine itself and making it taste bland. You can, of course, use other frozen fruits but the grape’s peel will stop its flavor from leaking into your wine, making sure it tastes just as good like it always does!

Tin Foil

Looking for a way to keep your drinks cool outdoor without the use of a cooler? We have found the perfect solution for you! Grab that aluminum tin foil from the kitchen and wrap the already chilled bottles/cans with it. The tin foil will prevent heat to be transferred from the outdoor surroundings into your drink maintaining an unchanging cool temperature of your drink for the rest of your party!

Corkcicles

Surprised by the sound of it? This device is an amazing, innovative invention, ready to chill your wine for over an hour or more. Corkcicles are available for a modest price and are easy to use. Just set one inside the wine bottle and you are good to go. Before you do put it in the drink though, make sure to freeze the corkcicle itself.

The use of this device is not limited to only wine bottles but also all types of other bottles, even though it has been specifically created for cooling wine. Moreover, using corkcicles will rid you of the hassle of trying to keep your bottles cool outside of the freezer or cooler with minimum effort, meaning you don’t have to keep running about to, from freezer to cooler to grab a drink.

Water Bottles

This trick is for those who’ve got time to chill drinks but want to avoid the trouble and hassle of using ice cubes in the cooler. Yes, they do work pretty well to keep the goods cool but if you are looking for a better way to do this, who said there isn’t? Try using frozen water bottles instead!

The bottles will definitely keep the contents of the cooler chilled without any water seeping into anything. The best part is you can save up much space in your cooler by using square bottles that will even fit the corners! This will certainly allow you to pack those extra beers and juice cans without you missing out on them.

Freezing the Glasses

This method will be handy for both; those trying to cool drinks and those trying to keep their already chilled drinks cool for longer. All you have to do is pop some empty glasses in the freezer for a minimum of 30 minutes.

How to know if the glasses are ready to chill your drink? The glasses would appear to have mist on them and will be cool to the touch. Once you pour your drink, it’s only a matter of moments before it starts to chill just like your glass.

For those pouring cool drinks in the glasses, this method will ensure they stay cold for a lengthy period of time. Besides, feel free to keep the empty glasses in the freezer for more than those 30 minutes – the longer it stays in there, the better results you will receive!

The Burying Method

Camping in summer months in the wilderness has become quite a sport nowadays. It is quite natural to long for cool drinks during these trips and for those not carrying a cooler, this method will definitely be a lifesaver. Just look for a cool spot with moist, damp earth preferably near a lake or stream, or simply pour water on the dry earth. Make a hole in that very spot and bury your bottles in it, covering them with soil.

You can obviously bury them entirely but we recommend leaving the lids out in the open. In that way, the top would remain clean for you to drink from and of course, it will be easier to locate the bottles. For either of these cases, do mark the spot just to be safe.

If you want to cool your drinks faster, try pouring water from a natural source directly on that spot to moisten the earth every once in a while. It will certainly speed up the cooling process.

Closing

Last but not the least, do remember to hydrate yourself at all times during hot weather conditions to avoid dehydration. Hopefully, the methods listed above is all that you’ll need to stay chill throughout the summer. However, if you have a new and cool method of your own, feel free to share it with us!
