Larchmont Secret: notNeutral

It’s a shame that few people bother to thoroughly explore Larchmont Boulevard north of Beverly. There’s a delightful retail showroom near Melrose Avenue where you can find everything from barware, colorful kitchen trays and lanterns to pillows, rugs and kids’ furniture. Those in the know travel all the way from the valley just to pick up unique items from notNeutral, the product-design arm of the architectural firm Rios Clementi Hale Studios.

Here are their famous City Plates!

Each of the 12-inch porcelain plates features the outlines of an international city. St. Petersburg, New York, Brasilia, Melbourne, London, Rome, Tokyo, Mexico City, Chicago, Montreal, Dubai, Paris and Mumbai are just a few.  You can probably spot these plates at museum stores like at LACMA, but you can get them at a better price at the Larchmont showroom.

You can buy an individual plate boxed or as part of a collection. For example, one collection features Berlin, Shanghai, Cairo and Los Angeles.  Another features Washington DC, New Orleans, Las Vegas and Dubai.
