The UC System
Let's start with the University of California (UC) system, which has several campuses located in SoCal that consistently rank among the best public universities in the nation. UCLA and UC Berkeley tend to get a lot of the attention, but don't overlook some of the other excellent UC schools down south.
UC San Diego gets our vote as arguably the top UC in SoCal. The La Jolla campus is stunning, sitting right on the Pacific coastline.
