July 4th does not symbolize freedom, but rather is a reminder of the gross injustice and cruelty BIPOC have suffered for hundreds of years and still do to this day.
While today is the 4th of July, we find it difficult to celebrate any sort of independence or to show any patriotism with so many things wrong in this country.
