Camp Hours: There are two sessions:
Half-Day Morning and Half-Day Afternoon or both
Morning session begins at 9:00am and ends at 1:00pm
Afternoon session begins at 2:00pm and ends at 6:00pm
What is the class size?
Each session is limited to 12 students.
Examples of classes given at the studio: “Sole” Searching Sculptures, Van Gogh Sunflower Study, Large-Scale Robot Installation, Live Model Drawing, Wire Sculpture, Bubble Painting, Cartooning
FAMILY FUN ART (Any age) – Designed for the youngest students to begin to explore art and learn the fundamentals of creativity. The adult and the child will work together on projects that include drawing, painting, sculpture, and cool crafts.
ART START (Ages 3-6) A perfect class for preschool aged kids who are ready to learn basic art techniques and skills. In class, you will explore drawing, painting, create recycle art, sculpture, and mixed media projects. Classes are all taught by real artists who guide and encourage the students to explore different types of art while also promoting Self-expression and creativity.
MIXED ART (Ages 6-12) – All types of art techniques such as drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media. Learn about art history and emulate the work of famous artists. Build upon skills and incorporate new art techniques, resulting in quality final art projects.
MONSTERS AND DRAGONS (Ages 6-12) – A class devoted to all things monster and dragons. Students will draw, build, name, paint, and create 2D and 3D versions monsters and dragons.
CARTOON AND ANIME (Ages 6-12) – The class will start with basic drawing techniques and story boards and then using the characters they have created, they will tell their story. Teachers and students will explore traditional cartoon, and the very popular Japanese anime.
TEEN CLASSES (Ages 13-19) – Students will work on long term projects that incorporate basic and advanced skills. Drawing, painting, sculpture and mixed media projects will be explored.
ART EXHIBITION – one professional artist per month. If you would like to be considered for a monthly art show, please submit your artist statement, resume, and samples of your work. There will be a reception to open the show, and a closing party.
COMMUNITY SERVICE – Art Works will be setting up a booth at the Larchmont Farmer’s Market where they will offer free art projects for the kids to do while patrons are shopping for produce. The focus will be on using recycled materials, teach basic art techniques, and also create community projects where everyone works on one project that will be displayed either in the windows of the Art Works studio – or at the farmers market.
VISITING ARTIST WORKSHOPS – Specialized workshops in printmaking, photography, paper, sewing, knitting, building things, crafting, cooking, organizing, and more!
