The Hole in the Sky (Sea Turtle Publishing, 2009) tells the story of the adventures of Kaela, a 13-year old whose mother has died. She lives with her father and is close to her cousin Shawn. Magic enters their lives when a being from Murantenland helps the cousins reach an enchanted kingdom through a hole in the sky. Kaela appears to be the red-haired girl who is destined to save the kingdom from a curse.
The Hole in the Sky was written for children ages nine to twelve. It the first part in an upcoming trilogy to be published about the fantastical journey of cousins Kaela and Shawn.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Barbara Mahler practices traditional Oriental medicine and works with cancer patients.
