The Kasimoff Blüthner Piano Company imported the first new Bluthner grand piano from Leipzig to Pasadena, California, in 1963.  It’s a family business that places Blüthner pianos in homes, colleges and universities, with music lovers, professional musicians, and recording artists. Many Blüthners grand pianos have been restored in their workshop such as those owned by Jerome Kern (1922), Prince Esterhazy (1903), and King Johann of Saxony (1860).

A clarinet player and piano and harpsichord tuner, William P. Kasimoff died in 1997 at the age of 75. His wife Helga runs the store with their three sons, Sergei, Ivan and Kyril. Clients range from opera stars to rock musicians and include the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Hollywood Bowl Orchestra.

I have an upright Bluthner that I would like to sell. I live in west Australia, could you please advise if you have any contacts here that would like to view it.

Hey Kyril, this is Bill Huang, back in the day from Emmaus First Lutheran. I saw your piece in the LA Times about the old piano. What an adventure. I am the Housing Director for the City of Pasadena, your old stomping ground. Give me a call next time you are in Pasadena and we can grab lunch or a cup of coffee. 626 744 8320 office direct.
