Larchmont Bungalow Calls Police on LarchmontLA

Two LAPD officers responded to a call made from 107 N. Larchmont early in the afternoon of Sunday, May 1st. That’s the address of Larchmont Bungalow.

The general manager Ken Bernard accompanied the officers to the farmers market where LarchmontLA’s beat reporter had earlier posted the following tweet:

“Illegal restaurant Larchmont Bungalow trying to buy affections of
farmers market vendors with free drinks. Won’t work…”

Ken Bernard told LAPD that the female reporter had “shoved” a male Bungalow employee at the farmers market and that they wanted to make a “private person’s arrest.”  No charges were filed because there were no witnesses and the accuser would not give his name. The officers left soon after to attend to more pressing matters.

This is another form of harassment by the Larchmont Bungalow in the wake of LarchmontLA’s continuing reporting of the legal and community problems of the Bungalow. The city filed three criminal charges against them and the arraignment is scheduled for June 29th.

Because of this incident, we feel compelled to make it clear that we will not be intimidated. Therefore, we will work harder to dig up public records relating to the food poisoning complaints against Bungalow as well as the Bungalow’s application to the city’s building department to turn their space into a “mini-mall.”

On October 4th, a lawsuit was filed at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse against Kenneth Bernard of Larchmont Cafe & Bakery, LLC.
